The purpose of the meeting was to create a platform for all artists, creatives, makers and arts and cultural organisations in Bognor to share ideas about our common passions for improving our town.

This is where the story began
Over 50 local artists and residents attended the open forum on 3 April 2025 at The Regis School of Music.
The meeting was chaired by Doug Nicholls.
Everyone briefly introduced themselves and lively discussion followed on arts and culture in Bognor.
The general view was that there was an abundance of local talent waiting to be developed into a potent driving force for improvement in Bognor through arts and culture.
There was a strong view that community spaces for arts and culture are currently lacking.
As a starting point it was agreed that a virtual community space should be developed to bridge the many existing networks and act as a communications hub for further development.
It was agreed that a Steering Group should be convened to develop a plan of action.

Arun District Council’s new arts and culture strategy should enable us to grow and prosper and finding collaborative ways of helping to develop this creative vision will be exciting for us all.
There is a great deal of potential at the moment, but we or course recognise there are still economic and funding issues to overcome.
As always these are best tackled collectively. We simply wanted through this exploratory meeting to create a platform for all artists, creatives, makers and arts and cultural organisations in Bognor to share ideas about our common passions for improving our town.
